Scientific definition:
A classless society with exploitation. A state machine used by a section of the population to oppress another section such as the army or the secret police. A need for concript armies or police forces. A use of production for profit or exchange. Society runs in accord with the strict principle: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
Bullshit definition (ie: commonly believed--but RIGHT)
Rule of society by a single party which maintains a monopoly of political power and suppresses all opposition. Control of the economy via centralized bureaucratic planning.
Examples of the definition: the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba, North Korea, etc.
