1. FOREWARD
Congratulations on your purchase of the ESD 01 energy saving device.
The ESD 01 is designed provide user with controlled savings in the consumption of electricity. It provides EMI (electromagnetic interference) filtering inline and with switch breakers and fusing on its central mains line.
The ESD O1 is rated to supply a maximum 4000 watts of electrical equipment.

3. Safety features
Each ESD O1 unit has:
1x Fused mains input switch
3x Trip switch protecting each output
1x Central trip switch monitoring output
On Installation the unit is closed by 4 supplied screws. For further protection against monitoring against unauthorized opening, there is provision for post closing seals to be applied.

4. LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Each ESD 01 is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal conditions, use and service. The warranty period is 90 Days from date of shipment. Parts, Product repairs and services are warranted for a further 90 days.
This Warranty only extends only to the original purchaser or end-user customer of ESD’S Authorised reseller group, and does not apply to fuses, disposable batteries, or to any product which in ESD’s opinion, has been misused, altered , neglected, contaminated or damaged by accident or abnormal conditions of operation or handling. ESD does not warrant any software
Embedded in the supplied product. ESD does not warrant that the unit will operate without interruption and denies, refutes liability whatsoever should and damages occur out of the use of
The ESD.
ESD Authorised resellers can extend the warranty on new and used products to end user customers. These extension warranties are subject to ESD’S Central head office approval and we reserve on right to refuse.
To obtain warranty service contact you’re nearest ESD Authorised service center to obtain a return authorization, or technician call out request. If you are returning your ESD unit for repair
Send it to you ESD service center with a report of problem covering your postage and insurance prepaid ESD’s offices (FOB Destination). ESD assumes no responsibility, risk for damage in transit. Following warranty repair, the unit will be returned to the original consignee transportation prepaid (FOB Destination). If ESD determines that failure was caused by neglect, misuse, contamination, misuse, alteration, or abnormal condition of operation or handling, including overvoltage failures caused by the use outside the products specified ratings or normal wear and tear of mechanical components. ESD will provide an estimate of repair costs and obtain an authorization before commencing work. Following repair, the unit will be returned to the original consignee transportation costs prepaid. Payment prior to shipping will paid by the owner of the ESD unit via Credit card, EFT before the goods are shipped.
THIS WARRANTY IS THE BUYERS SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND I IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERWARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. 5. WARNING
Do not work on the ESD 01 unit while it is connected to the AC mains. There is the threat of injury shock or fatal injury.
Do not connect in excess of 4000 watts. Use qualified personal when installing this equipment into an existing DB board.

7. Mounting
The ESD O1 can be mounted next to your Mains Distribution Box or at any other location where it can be used as a sub-distribution box..
As a rule of thumb the external plugs and cables supplied can be used to wire in to your apartment, Building or Houses distribution point.
The box has 4 mounting Ridges that must be drilled by the electrical installer care must be taken not to damage any of the preinstalled wiring or cable.
Please see picture below with marks depicting area on the boxes mounting holes are to be drilled. There are four such circles at each corner of the base box unit.

The box should be mounted vertically. Try to keep cables as short as possible.
The fused mains in switch should not bypass your earth leakage unit (It is important that you allow earth continuity) allow the earth to follow through.
Alternatively you can ask you Electrician to leave you old earth leakage in service and install a new unit into the ESD 01 unit.
Remember the ESD 01 is designed to save consumption of 4000 watts of equipment connected to Mains Distribution board if you are consuming more purchase an additional unit.

Each output plug on the ESD 01 is marked with a specific pictogram ie for Lights we use Low energy lights. The Switch breaker on existing DP box relating to lights if you have one should be removed. The Live side should be sealed and made safe.
The ESD 01 should then be wired into the old DP Boxes Lights Trip switch.
The same work should be applied to wiring in the other ESD 01 mains outlet Plugs.
Please follow standard procedure and confirm that when all electrical work is done that now supply is switched on.

8. Replacement of Power Battery
The ESD O1 Display unit is powered by a replaceable 9 Volt DC Battery. The Display indicates when the charge is low. To replace cut tie rap and replace Battery use spare tie rap supplied.

9. Setting Controller once the unit is installed

The ESD 01 Controller is suitable for 110 to 220 Volt Systems.
Once you have connected up the ESD 01 to it respective terminals. And you are ready to go live. While the power is down place a voltmeter on the output of the ESD 01 unit. Before turning on the power make sure that one of each the items are turned on before the power is switched on.
On the controller is a knob, with the power now switched on and your multimeter set to AC volts turn the knob on the controller to 180 Volts AC, Please confirm that you equipment is operational.
